Item 5: Fees and Compensation
Please note, unless a Client has received this brochure at least 48 hours prior to signing an Advisory Contract, the
Advisory Contract may be terminated by the Client within five (5) business days of signing the Advisory Contract
without penalty.
How we are paid depends on the type of advisory services we perform. Below is a brief description of our fees,
however, you should review your executed Advisory Contract for more detailed information regarding the exact
fees you will be paying. No increase to the agreed-upon advisory fees outlined in the Advisory Contract shall
occur without prior Client consent. Similar investment advisory services can be obtained from other registered
investment advisers at lower costs.
Investment Management Services
We charge a fee based on a percentage of assets under management based on the strategy utilized, according to the
below fee schedule:
Strategy Objective Annual Advisory Fee
Journey: Hand selected growth holdings Portfolio growth 3.0%
using analyst research
Stability: Hand selected utility holdings Dividend growth and low 3.0%
using analyst research volatility
Preservation: Hand selected bond/debt \ Safety net that also fights inflation 1.0%
securities
Legacy: Hand selected stock, bond, and Portfolio growth 1.0%
fund investments with the use of options to
hedge overweight stock positions
The annual advisory fee is paid quarterly in advance based on the value of Client’s account(s) as of the last day of
the billing period. FHWM, in its sole discretion, may negotiate to charge a lesser fee based upon certain criteria,
such as the complexity of the client’s portfolio, the level of expertise required to service the account, the staff time
involved in servicing the account, pre-existing client relationships, anticipated future additional assets, dollar
amount of assets to be managed, account retention and pro bono activities among other factors. Related client
accounts may be aggregated for purposes of calculating fees.
FHWM relies on the valuation as provided by Client’s custodian in determining assets under management. Our
advisory fee is prorated for any partial billing periods occurring during the engagement, including the initial and
terminating billing periods. Clients may make additions or withdrawals from their account at any time; however,
FHWM reserves the right to adjust our advisory fees on a pro-rata basis on account of any such cash-flow
transactions during the billing period.
Financial Planning
We charge a fixed fee of $500 - $7,500 for the development of a Financial Plan. Fees are negotiable and the final
agreed upon fee will be outlined in your Advisory Contract. FHWM collects half of the fee in advance with the
remainder due upon completion of the services. Financial planning fees are paid via electronic funds transfer,
credit/debit card, or check. FHWM collects 50% of the fees in advance (but never more than six months in
advance) with the remainder due upon presentation of the plan. Upon delivery of the initial Financial Plan, Clients
may engage for additional planning support at the rate of $400 per hour. Hourly Financial Planning fees will be
due at the completion of the engagement. In the event of early termination by the Client, any fees for the hours
already worked will be due.
Estate Planning Services
Fees for Estate Planning services are separate, and in addition to, advisory fees paid to FHWM. Clients
will remit payment for Estate Planning services to FHWM and FHWM will remit fees to the third-party
Estate Planner.
Retirement Consulting & Management Services
Our annual fee for Retirement Plan services will range from 1.00% to 3.00%. Investment strategy complexity will
be taken into consideration when charging a Retirement Consulting and/or Management fee. The final fee,
frequency, and method of payment is outlined in the Client Agreement. Payment will be based on the value of the
Plan assets as of the close of business on the last business day of the period as valued by the custodian of the
assets. However, if the fee is paid by the Plan or the client through a third-party service provider, such fee will be
calculated as determined by the provider. If the fee is paid prior to the services being provided, the Plan will be
entitled to a prorated refund of any prepaid fees for services not received upon termination of the client
agreement. Our advisory fee does not include fees to other parties, such as Recordkeepers, Custodians, or
Third-Party-Administrators.
Fee Deduction
For Investment Management services, we deduct our advisory fee from one or more account(s) held at an
unaffiliated third-party custodian, as directed by the Client. Please refer to Item 15 of this Brochure regarding our
policy on direct fee deduction. Clients may also pay by electronic funds transfer, credit/debit card, or check.
For Financial Planning services, including creation of the Financial Plan and additional planning support, fees are
paid by electronic funds transfer, credit/debit card, or check.
