Item 5: Fees and Compensation
Please note, unless a client has received the firm’s disclosure brochure at least 48 hours prior to signing the
investment advisory contract, the investment advisory contract may be terminated by the client within five (5)
business days of signing the contract without incurring any advisory fees. How we are paid depends on the type of
advisory service we are performing. Please review the fee and compensation information below. GWM will not
bill an amount above $1,200 more than 6 months in advance.
Investment Management Services
Our standard advisory fee is based on the market value of the assets under management and is calculated as
follows:
Effective January 1, 2024, our standard advisory fee is based on the market value of the assets under management
and is calculated as follows:
Account Value Annual Advisory Fee
$0 - $749,999 1.00%
$750,000 - $999,999 0.90%
$1,000,000 - $1,499,999 0.85%
$1,500,000 - $2,499,999 0.80%
$2,500,000 - $3,499,999 0.70%
$3,500,000 - $4,999,999 0.60%
$5,000,000 and Above 0.50%
The annual fees are negotiable and are pro-rated and paid in advance on a quarterly basis. The advisory fee is a
tiered fee and is calculated by assessing the percentage rates using the predefined levels of assets as shown in the
above chart and applying the fee to the account value as of the last day of the previous quarter. Fees are based on
the number of days in the quarter. The account value used to calculate advisory fees may differ from that of the
custodial account statement due to transactions settling over quarter end. Certain assets in which GWM does not
provide advice but are held in the client’s account may be excluded from the fee calculation. GWM allows for
client accounts to be considered a “household,” meaning fees for accounts are aggregated for the purposes of
achieving the advisory fee breakpoint. No increase in the annual fee shall be effective without agreement from the
client by signing a new agreement or amendment to their current advisory agreement.
For clients with fewer than $750,000 in assets under management, investment advisory and financial planning
services will be provided at a fixed quarterly fee of $1,875 per quarter.
For clients with assets under management exceeding $8,000,000, investment advisory and financial planning
services will be provided at a fixed quarterly fee of $10,000 ($40,000 annually).
Advisory fees are directly debited from client accounts, or the client may choose to pay by check. Accounts
initiated or terminated during a calendar quarter, and cash flows in existing accounts over $50,000, will be
charged or credited a pro-rated fee based on the amount of time remaining in the billing period. An account may
be terminated with written notice at least 30 calendar days in advance. Upon termination of the account, any
unearned fee will be refunded to the client.
Although GWM has established the above fee schedule, we may negotiate other fee schedules depending on the
size of the account, type of account, the level of client service required and other factors we consider relevant,
including timing of client relationship.
Comprehensive Financial Planning
When investment management services are used, comprehensive financial planning is included in the investment
advisory fee.
One-Time Financial Plan
A one-time financial plan will be offered on a fixed fee basis. The fixed fee will be agreed upon before the start of
any work and will be set forth and identified in an agreement between GWM and the client. Effective January 1,
2024, the fixed fee can range between $5,000 and $9,000 which is directly related to the overall complexity of a
Client’s financial situation, which would include, but is not limited to: investment, tax, estate, legal, and other
business matters that would affect a Client’s plan. The higher the degree of complexity, the higher the rate
charged. The fee is negotiable. Half of the fee is due upon signing the client agreement and the remainder is due
upon delivery of the plan, or in monthly installments over a time period agreed upon by the client and advisor.
The upfront portion of the One-Time Plan fee is for client onboarding, data gathering, and setting the basis for and
delivering the financial plan. This work will commence immediately after the fee is paid, and will be completed
within the first 30 days of the date the fee is paid. Therefore, the upfront portion of the fee will not be paid more
than 6 months in advance. Fees for this service may be paid by electronic funds transfer or check. This service
may be terminated with 30 days’ notice. Upon termination, the half of the fee that is due up front will be
non-refundable, and no further fees will be charged.
If after completing this engagement the client would like to work with the advisor in an ongoing capacity for
Comprehensive Financial Planning, the fixed fee will be credited towards the year one Investment Management
fee.
Financial Planning Fixed Fee
Effective January 1, 2024, fixed fees can range between $3,500 and $6,300 annually which is directly related to
the overall complexity of a Client’s financial situation, which would include, but is not limited to: investment, tax,
