Item 5 Fees and Compensation
Portfolio Management Services
For new clients onboarding on or after October 1, 2024, we have implemented a new fee schedule. Under the
previous schedule, client fees were negotiable and ranged from 0.50% to 2.0% of assets under management.
The new tiered schedule is shown below. The rates shown below apply to the market value of all assets under
management, including cash balances that are available for investment. These rates represent annual fees,
which are billed and payable quarterly in advance based on the average daily balance of your account during
the previous quarter.
Assets Under Management Annual Fee Effective October 1, 2024, for New Clients
$0 -$50,000 1.4%
$50,000.01 - $250,000 1.1%
$250,000.01 to $500,000 1.0%
$500,000.01 to $1,000,000 0.9%
$1,000,000.01 to $2,000,000 0.8%
$2,000,000.01 to $5,000,000 0.7%
$5,000,000.01 and above 0.5%
There are exceptions to the fee schedule shown above, which generally are as follows: (a) fees for existing
clients remain unchanged and are detailed in each client's advisory agreement; (b) fees for a new account
opened by an existing client will be subject to the legacy fee schedule detailed in the client's advisory
agreement; (c) we may negotiate fees with any new advisors joining the firm who have established
relationships with clients they bring to the firm which could result in their fees diverging from the above fee
schedule. Advocate Investing Services, LLC retains the discretion to negotiate and charge different fees and/or
waive account expenses for certain accounts based on the client’s particular needs, overall relationship with us
and other factors unique to the client’s particular circumstances.
Our annual portfolio management fee is billed and payable quarterly in advance based on the average daily
balance of your account during the previous quarter. If the portfolio management agreement is executed at any
time other than the first day of the calendar quarter, our fees will apply on a pro rata basis, which means that
the advisory fee is payable in proportion to the number of days in the quarter for which you are a client. Our
advisory fee is negotiable, depending on individual client circumstances.
At our discretion, we may combine the account values of family members living in the same household to
determine the applicable advisory fee. For example, we may combine account values for you and your minor
children, joint accounts with your spouse, and other types of related accounts. Combining account values may
increase the asset total, which may result in you paying a reduced advisory fee based on the breakpoints
available in our fee schedule stated above.
We will deduct our fee directly from your account through the qualified custodian holding your funds and
securities. We will deduct our advisory fee only when the following requirements are met:
• You provide our firm with written authorization permitting the fees to be paid directly from your
account held by the qualified custodian.
• The qualified custodian agrees to send you a statement, at least quarterly, indicating all amounts
dispersed from your account including the amount of the advisory fee paid directly to our firm.
We encourage you to reconcile our invoices with the statement(s) you receive from the qualified custodian. If
you find any inconsistent information between our invoice and the statement(s) you receive from the qualified
custodian call our main office number located on the cover page of this brochure.
You may terminate the portfolio management agreement upon 30 days’ written notice to our firm. You will
incur a pro rata charge for services rendered prior to the termination of the portfolio management agreement,
which means you will incur advisory fees only in proportion to the number of days in the quarter for which you
are a client. If you have pre-paid advisory fees that we have not yet earned, you will receive a prorated refund
of those fees.
Financial Planning Services
We charge either an hourly fee or a fixed fee for financial planning services. Our hourly fee is $400 per hour and
our fixed fee ranges from $1,000 to $10,000. The fees are negotiable depending upon the complexity and scope
of the plan, your financial situation, and your financial objectives.
For hourly arrangements, an estimate of the total time/cost will be determined at the start of the advisory
relationship. In limited circumstances, the cost/time could potentially exceed the initial estimate. In such cases,
we will notify you and request that you approve the additional fee. Fees are due upon completion of the
services rendered.
At our discretion, we may offset our financial planning fees to the extent you implement the financial plan
through our Portfolio Management Service.
You may terminate the financial planning agreement upon 30 days’ written notice to our firm. You will incur a
pro rata charge for services rendered prior to the termination of the agreement, which means you will incur
advisory fees only for the services rendered. Since fees are payable in arrears, you will be responsible for a
prorated fee based on services performed.
Advisory Consulting Services
We charge either a fixed or an hourly fee for advisory consulting services. Fixed fees are negotiable and range
from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the scope and complexity of services to be rendered. Alternatively, we
may charge an hourly fee of $400. For hourly arrangements, an estimate of the total time/cost will be
determined at the start of the advisory relationship. In limited circumstances, the cost/time could potentially
exceed the initial estimate. In such cases, we will notify you and request that you approve the additional fee.

Item 7 Types of Clients We offer investment advisory services to individuals, high net worth individuals, charitable organizations, and corporations or other businesses entities. In general, we do not require a minimum dollar amount to open and maintain an advisory account; however, we have the right to terminate your Account if it falls below a minimum size which, in our sole opinion, is too small to manage effectively. We may also combine account values for you and your minor children, joint accounts with your spouse, and other types of related accounts to meet the stated minimum. |
