Item 5 – Fees and Compensation
In addition to the information provided in Item 4 – Advisory Business, this section provides additional
details regarding our services. It also provides information about each service’s fees and compensation
arrangements.
Our Fees- Financial Planning
We offer financial planning services on a fixed-fee basis.
The fees we charge for stand-alone financial planning are fixed, with a typical minimum charge of
$5,000. The fee will be determined by the scope and complexity of your situation and our estimation of
the amount of time it will take us to provide the assistance you require. The fee is negotiable. We will
present you with a written proposal before beginning any work, and we usually require you to pay the
fee in full in advance.
We do not charge planning fees for ongoing service. Planning fees are one-time fees for plan delivery.
We waive the financial planning fee altogether for new clients who engage us to provide investment
management services for portfolios with more than $1,000,000 of assets.
Family Legacy never requires payment of more than $1,200 in fees more than six months in advance. This
means that any financial planning service we provide you will always be completed within six months of
the date on which you paid the fee, regardless of how much you paid.
Our financial planning agreement terminates when either party provides the other party with a written
notice of termination.
You may terminate the financial planning services within five (5) business days of entering into an
agreement with Family Legacy without penalty or fees due.
If you terminate the services after five (5) business days of entering into an agreement, we will refund the
pro-rated amount of your unused, prepaid fee to you. If you have prepaid any financial planning fees at
the time of termination, we will promptly refund them to you. We will calculate the amount of the refund
by counting days to determine how much of the prepaid fee amount was unearned during the final billing
period.
You can pay the fees owed for the financial planning services by:
• submitting payment directly (for example, by check);
• having the fee deducted from an investment management account;
• credit card; or
• by wire (ACH).
If you elect to pay by automatic deduction from an investment management account, you must provide
an initial written authorization to Family Legacy for such a charge.

Lower fees for comparable services may be available from another provider.
Our Fees- Investment Management
Our investment management fee is a variable percentage of assets under management, and it ranges
from 0.7% to 1.25% per year.
Generally, the larger your account, the smaller the variable investment management rate will be, as
shown in the following schedule of indicative annual fees:
Total Assets Under Management Indicative Annual Fees
$0 - $500,000 1.25%
$500,001 - $1,000,000 1.10%
$1,000,001 - $2,000,000 1.00%
$2,000,001 - $5,000,000 0.90%
$5,000,001 - $10,000,000 0.80%
$10,000,001 - AND UP 0.70%
It is important to note that our variable investment management fees are negotiable. We can negotiate
fees higher, or lower, within the absolute range described above. Whether we decide to offer you a
different rate depends on various factors. Some factors that influence our decision to offer you a different
rate for our investment management services can include, amongst other things:
1. The complexity of your account;
2. Any unusual investment restrictions or special requests that you have placed on your account;
3. Our estimation of the future level of assets that you might ask us to manage;
4. Whether your account should be treated as part of a household for fee purposes, such that assets
across related accounts are combined when applying the annual fee rate; and
5. Your reporting needs.
Usually, we deduct the investment management fees from your account quarterly in advance, and the
fees are paid to us by the custodian that holds your account. The contract between you and Family Legacy
will contain the exact fee schedule for your account.
Grandfathered TD accounts are billed monthly in arrears.
Family Legacy provides investment advisory services where the asset management fee, brokerage
commissions and ticket charges are "wrapped" into a single payment. All of our advisory services are
provided in this wrap fee format. In order to engage us for advisory services, we recommend that you
participate in our wrap fee program. A Wrap Fee Brochure supplements our Disclosure Brochure, and it
provides further details about our business practices and fee structure. You can find it as Appendix 1 to
this Brochure, below.

Family Legacy is the sponsor and portfolio manager of our wrap fee program. We receive a single,
“wrapped” investment management fee from our clients, and we pay the custodian for the costs
associated with the trading activity in client accounts.
The wrapped investment management fees that you pay will be calculated by Family Legacy and
deducted from your account at the custodian. You will receive regular, independent statements of your
account from the custodian, and we encourage you to review them carefully and ask us questions about
them.
The services that we provide in this wrap fee program may cost more or less than purchasing such
services separately. Family Legacy has an incentive to limit trading activities in your account because we

Item 7 – Types of Clients Our clients are mostly families that are planning for, and transitioning into, retirement. Most of our clients reside in North Carolina. We connect with most of our clients through word-of- mouth recommendations and referrals. We employ various marketing strategies across various widely- used social media platform such as Facebook and LinkedIn. We have met some of our clients through the Dave Ramsey network of investment professionals, and others through business and religious groups of which we are members and for whom we sometimes host events. Family Legacy does not have a minimum portfolio account size. |
