Fees & Compensation Compensation for Our Advisory Services Navigate For our Navigate service, our firm charges a monthly recurring flat fee not to exceed $25 per month. We may also charge an hourly fee not to exceed $150 per hour. The fee to be charged is determined on a case-by-case basis and will be detailed in the Navigate Agreement. Our firm will not require a retainer exceeding $1,200 when services cannot be rendered within 6 months. Navigate + For our Navigate + service our firm charges a monthly recurring flat fee not to exceed $50 per month. In addition, if we manage a client’s investments our firm charges an investment advisory fee based on the value of assets in a client’s account that shall not exceed 1.00% of assets under management. Fees are outlined in the Navigate + Agreement signed by the client. Our firm bills on cash unless indicated otherwise in writing. Annualized fees are billed on a pro-rata basis quarterly, in advance, based on the value of the account on the last day of the previous quarter. Fees vary and are negotiable. Adjustments will be made for deposits and withdrawals during the quarter. In terms of billing for Navigate + services, our firm does not bill clients directly for the investment advisory fee. Rather, investment advisory fees are automatically deducted from clients’ accounts as per the following. First, a client provides authorization permitting the custodian to pull our fee from the client’s account. Second, the custodian debits the client’s account for the advisory fee and sends the fee to our firm. By way of information, the custodian sends statements to clients at least quarterly, showing the market values for each security included in the account as well as all contributions and withdrawals from the account, including the amount of the advisory fees paid to our firm. Navigate k For our Navigate Your 401(k) service, geared for 401(k) plans, our firm charges an advisory fee, typically a percentage of plan assets, although sometimes we charge a flat fee. Our annual fee shall not exceed 1.00% of assets under management, while a flat fee shall not exceed $25,000. The scope of services to be rendered, and the fee for providing those services, are outlined in the Navigate Your 401(k) Agreement, which is signed by the client. Whether a percentage of plan assets or a flat fee, the recordkeeper pulls our firm’s advisory fee from plan assets on a monthly or quarterly basis and forwards that fee to us. In rare cases, we can make special arrangements to bill the plan sponsor directly. Other Types of Fees & Expenses Clients may incur transaction fees for trades executed by the custodian. Transaction fees are separate from our firm’s advisory fees and are disclosed by the chosen custodian. In most cases there will be no transaction fees for trades. And in the event of such trades, the transaction fee will be nominal. Our firm’s recommended custodian, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (“Schwab”), does not charge transaction fees for U.S. listed equities and exchange traded funds. Clients may also pay holdings charges imposed by the chosen custodian for certain investments, charges imposed directly by a mutual fund, index fund, or exchange traded fund, which shall be disclosed in the fund’s prospectus (e.g., fund management fees and other fund expenses), distribution fees, surrender charges, variable annuity fees, IRA and qualified retirement plan fees, mark-ups and mark-downs, spreads paid to market makers, fees for trades executed away from custodian, wire transfer fees, and other fees and taxes on brokerage accounts and securities transactions. Our firm does not receive a portion of these fees. Termination & Refunds At any time, either party may terminate the Navigate agreement before the delivery of a financial plan by providing written notice. For purposes of calculating refunds, each refund will be detailed on a case-by-case basis within the Navigate Service Agreement. Clients will receive a pro-rata refund of unearned fees based on the time and effort expended by our firm. At any time, either party may terminate in writing any Navigate + agreement signed with our firm. Upon notice of termination our firm will process a pro-rata refund of the unearned portion of the advisory fees charged in advance. Either party to a Navigate Your 401(k) Agreement may terminate at any time by providing written notice to the other party. Any refunds will be calculated by the recordkeeper and be effective on the date of written request to terminate the agreement. Clients will be charged on a pro-rata basis, which takes into account work completed by our firm on behalf of the client. Clients will incur charges for advisory services rendered up to the point of termination, and such fees will be due and payable. Commissionable Securities Sales Our firm and representatives do not sell securities for a commission in advisory accounts. |
