In December 2019, instances of a human infection of unknown cause originating in China were first reported to the World Health Organization. In early January 2020, this infection was traced to a novel strain of coronavirus. The virus has subsequently spread to other parts of the world, including the U.S. and Europe, and has caused unprecedented disruptions in the global economy as efforts to contain the spread of the virus have intensified. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization officially declared the coronavirus outbreak (also referred to as COVID-19) a pandemic. Since March 17, 2020, a number of states in the U.S., including all of the states in which we have manufacturing facilities, have instituted ‘shelter-in place' orders as well as provided guidance in response to the pandemic and the need to contain it. We are carefully reviewing all rules, regulations, and orders and responding accordingly. On March 17, 2020, we temporarily shut down our EMS manufacturing facility in Fremont, California. As of the date of this filing, all of our other manufacturing facilities remain open. In the meantime, we have taken steps to take care of our employees, including providing the ability for employees to work remotely and implementing strategies to support appropriate social distancing techniques for those employees who are not able to work remotely. We have also taken precautions with regard to employee, facility and office hygiene as well as implementing significant travel restrictions. We have developed a process for the ongoing screening of employees and visitors to our facilities to assess their risk of exposure to and/or infection with the coronavirus. We are also assessing our business continuity plans for all business units in the context of the pandemic. This is a rapidly evolving situation, and we will continue to monitor and mitigate developments affecting our workforce, our suppliers, our customers, and the public at large to the extent we are able to do so. inTEST Corporation was incorporated in New Jersey in 1981 and reincorporated in Delaware in April 1997.
