Item 5-Fees and Compensation
Schlosser Financial Services receives compensation for investment services by means of an
Investment Advisory Fee, which is based on a percentage of assets under management. The fee
is a flat .85% per year. (Fees are negotiable for larger accounts.) The fee is broken down
quarterly, and can be billed directly or deducted automatically from each account through an
arrangement with Charles Schwab and Company Institutional Services.
Other investment costs:
In addition to my advisory fee, other fees that will affect a client's portfolio return include:
• Fund expense ratios. Fund expense ratios are expenses built into Exchange Traded
Funds and mutual funds. The higher the expense, the lower the fund's return. Expense
ratios can be a major factor in long term performance.
• Transaction fees to purchase/sell ETFs and stocks: Most ETFs have no fees to purchase
or to sell.
• Transaction fees to purchase mutual funds: All mutual funds will be either no-load or
load waived A shares. Most of funds can be purchased and sold for free. Some no-load
mutual funds (Vanguard in particular) charge a $24 fee to buy and sell. |
